Women in the World of Coffee is a young initiative.

Thanks to the collaboration of illycaffè's Università del Caffè and the Ernesto Illy Foundation, the first international conference dedicated to improving the lives of women in the world of coffee through education and access was held in Trieste, Italy on March 27th and 28th 2014.
The objective of the conference was to gather and share success stories and strategies through an education and mentoring program that made knowledge available as a resource to a broader number of people through various participating organizations.
In order to make sure that the next generation of women in coffee be involved in this “quiet revolution”, we asked our speakers to bring with them a young woman candidate to participate in the conference so that she may learn and open her mind to the themes of women in coffee from around the world.
The young women candidates who participated were chosen because they are sensitive to these issues and have the motivation to put into practice what they acquired during the conference.
They are now Project Leaders for the “quiet revolution” as bloggers, telling their stories and motivating others through their words.
